Yin Yoga:
Slow the pace and find the balance within yourself
Yin Yoga is the combination of the traditional Indian Hatha Yoga with the Chinese tradition of Taoism. While the postures (Asana) are taken from the Hatha, the approach derives from the principle of Tao Yin / Yang and the relationship of polarities.
This style of Yoga is slow and more static than Hatha Yoga which is known for the physical effort required.
Poses are held from about 3 to 10 minutes, during this time the tendons and connective tissue are stimulated, and tension is released. Is a gateway to inner peace.
The postures stimulate ligaments, tendons, joints and bones; the body will be relaxed and released from tensions.
Suitable for all ages, Yin Yoga releases tension and allows the mind to settle. It works on the connective tissue (the joints, tendons, ligaments and muscle fascia) through physical exercises (Asanas) that involve the whole body without muscle activation.
In Yin Yoga there are three principles: find your edge, being still, and holding the pose. In the stillness of the Yin practice, we hold space for listening within.
Dealing with stressful times
Yin Yoga allows us to become aware of every part of ourselves and welcome it, letting go of what “weighs” on us. By creating an honest dialogue with ourselves, we can understand what can lead to psychophysical well-being and what slows it down.
Practiced without the need for a warm-up, it is well suited to those who live in a hurry, but want to achieve a state of calm associated with physical benefits.
Also suitable for dealing with periods of stress and seasonal changes, thanks to the mindfulness technique, it can be practiced before bedtime to promote rest.
